1. Who we are

CareerNova AI is an AI-powered career platform that helps people build resumes, improve ATS scores, match jobs, prepare for interviews and create portfolio websites. CareerNova AI is a product of Biswasoft, which operates the service and is responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. By using CareerNova AI you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Account data

When you register we collect your name, email address and a password (stored only as a one-way hash). If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. You may also add an optional phone number to your profile.

Resume data

The content you create or import: contact details, summary, work experience, education, skills, projects, certifications, links, photo and any additional sections. We also store the job descriptions you paste for ATS scoring, job matching, interview preparation and resume improvement, and the cover letters, portfolio pages and analysis results you generate.

Payment data

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers (Razorpay, Stripe, PayPal, PhonePe or Cashfree). We do not receive or store your full card, UPI or bank details. We keep the transaction reference, amount, currency, tax, status, payment method type and the billing details needed to issue invoices.

Usage and device data

Standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and error logs, used to run, secure and improve the service.

Messages you send us

Anything you submit through the contact form or a support ticket, including your name, email and message.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the service: create and store your resumes, generate documents and run analyses.
• To process payments, issue invoices and manage your subscription and AI credits.
• To send service emails such as verification, password reset, receipts and important account notices.
• To provide support and respond to your messages.
• To keep the platform secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
• To understand how the service is used so we can improve it.

4. AI processing

Some features (summaries, experience rewriting, skill suggestions, cover letters, ATS suggestions, interview questions and AI resume improvement) use third-party AI providers. When you use one, the relevant parts of your resume and any job description you supplied are sent to the configured AI provider solely to generate your result, over an encrypted connection.

We keep a usage record of each AI request (feature, credits used and provider) for billing and abuse prevention.

5. Payment data

Card and bank details are entered on the payment provider's secure checkout and never touch our servers. Invoices include your name, email, the item purchased, the amount and the applicable GST, and are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Essential cookies - keep you signed in, protect forms against forgery and remember your session or "remember me" choice. The service cannot work without them.
• Preference cookies - remember settings such as your theme.
• Analytics and advertising cookies - only where those services are enabled, as described below.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though essential cookies are needed to sign in.

7. Analytics

We may use analytics tools to measure traffic and understand which pages and features are useful. These tools may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type, and may set cookies. We use the results in aggregate to improve CareerNova AI.

8. Advertising

We may display advertising on our public pages through Google AdSense or similar partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies by visiting www.aboutads.info.

9. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers that help us run CareerNova AI: hosting, email delivery, payment processing and AI providers, each limited to what they need to perform the service.
• Authorities or other parties when the law requires it or to protect our rights, users or the public.
• A successor, if Biswasoft is involved in a merger or sale, with notice to you.

If you publish a portfolio website, the information you choose to put on it is publicly visible.

10. Data protection

We protect your information with measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, restricted administrative access and secure handling of payment callbacks. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

11. Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual resumes at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account. We may retain limited information afterwards where needed for legal, tax, accounting or fraud-prevention reasons, such as invoices and payment records.

12. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
• correct inaccurate data (most can be edited directly in your account);
• request deletion of your account and data;
• object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it;
• opt out of non-essential emails using the link in them.

To exercise a right, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first.

13. Children

CareerNova AI is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or the law changes. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or within the service.
